Hello everybody, my name is Esteban. I'm a friendly and say going person. Let me talk a little bit to you about me:
I´m Studying at the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas my PhD degree in philosophy. I play in a rock band, its name is Shelby. I like to travel, music, art movies and my passion is to learn new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsufing is a good place to meet new people, stories and experiences. The best way to know about a country or a region is from people who tells stories about it. I have had those wonderful experiences with amazing people at home or in their homes.

Interests

I do love to travel. I think that one person can learn in different ways: two of them are books and traveling. The first one is a lonely passion; the second one is with others, because traveling is the way to discover new thoughts, new points of view, other people and its culture.

I´m an amateur by taking photographs, but I think that we can see how some places, people or some instants are meaningful. I like rock and classic music. I play the bass guitar and drums (a little bit).

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic Music: Mozart is my favorite one. In fact, I traveled to Salzburg just to know as much as possible about Mozart.
Chopin, I think (as many others) that what He plays is poetry. The way He can play the piano and what he can transmit is impossible to say in any words.
The genius and passion of Paganini make me feel something really big. I can't explain neither in my native language, nor in other one. I think, like Gerard de Nerval, that He takes us away, to other life. The second life: the dream.

I like rock music: Bands like Steelheart, Tool, The beatles, Guns and Roses and many others.

Movies: Well, I like many authors and movies: Polanski, Kim Ki Duk, Igman Bergman, Godard, Scorsese, Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro, Lars Von Trier, David Lynch.
The last movie I saw (september 2019) was Once upon a time in Hollywood. I think this is a great movie and Tarantino not only take revenge of this episode of Hollywood, but rather He create a new history. I think art is this: creation.

Books: Xavier Villaurrutia, Julio Cortazar, Milan Kundera, Marcel Proust, Goethe, Octavio Paz, Gerard de Nerval, Coetze, Pascal Quignard, Antonio Lobo Antunes, Paul Celan, Hölderlin, among others.

Philosophy. Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Heidegger, Derrida.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have visited some places in México that they are sort of complicated to find. For example, a monastery in the very heart of a canyon.

I´ve played in a stadium with my rock band and we recorded 2 albums!

Some friends and I could be able to publish a Magazine of philosophy, psychoanalysis and culture.

I´m able to play guitar, bass guitar and a little bit keyboards.
I love to talk about music, art movies, culture, about some places I´ve visited, philosophy and abut good food.
