Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Marija and I'm a 21 yo student from Belgrade, Serbia. I love to travel as much as I can.
My ideal European trip: experiencing the city from within. For me that means hanging out with locals, eating food that locals love, experiencing culture and nightlife and all the other things city life consists of.
I love walking around the city, however there should be a balance of hardcore European summer sun and chilling per day.
I would love to knit with you/or for you, while talking about life.
And afterwards we can stitch and purl on the dancefloor. Show me your underground!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet the locals and be a roomie with one for a few days! It seems so much fun getting to know the differences and similarities in our ways of living. I would love to contribute to your home in my humble ways the best I can, and show glimpses of how I was raised and my own "art of living".
Also, considering my philosophy on how I want to "crack the code of tourism" by hanging out with locals and exploring the city as if I was born in it, I think CS is such a cool website because it simply allows it! No intermediates.
Unfortunately, I can't host because I still live in my family home, and we don't have space for guests, so I'm really grateful for possible accommodation at hosts' places.
Interests
I study film editing, so I really love watching movies and would love to watch and analyse some cool movie afterwards with my hosts. However, literature has always been my primary passion, and talking about it and discussing it always brings a sparkle in my eye. Meeting a person who feels the same makes me want to jump like a kid.
I learned to knit out of boredom one summer and still find great pleasure in it. It's such a relaxing and centering hobby. Also, having wearable and pretty fruits of your work is so cool and rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: super eclectic music taste, from electronic (Tale of Us and Rodhad most recently) to world (Amadou et Mariam), to modern classical (Moondog).
Movies: Chan Wook Park, Charlie Kaufman, oh my - Jacques-Yves Cousteau's documentaries! They are awesome. And many more.
Books: Nabokov, Saramago, Hesse my top three authors. Oh and Lessing should be squeezed in.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've sang my newborn nephew to sleep. It's one of those feelings, you know?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can knit (as said previously)!
I can teach you Serbian and perhaps very rudimentary Russian and French.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like going out, so we would have a lot of fun in bars and clubs. Also, it would be very fun to go to famous places in your city that are often seen in movies. I think it could be a cool excursion (like that "Sex and the city one" in NYC *totally would go though lol*)
