About Me

In July I will be in Jordan, Egypt and Morocco. Looking for someone to show us round the cities Amman, Cairo and Marrakech to get our bearings! :)

I run a website/blog about eco friendly and ethical fashion! :)
www.roecofashion.com I often link blog posts to my travel experiences. You can find lots of my travel photography here!

I started this due to my journey from being a model in the fashion industry, working in events and marketing - to giving it all up to travel the world for 3 years as a budget backpacker! I returned back to the UK with a different mindset and created Roeco Fashion! I then started my career as a Primary school teacher! I also run workshops: Roeco and for www.beehealthystories.com.au.

I LOVE to dance - I am highly addicted to bachata and salsa dancing!

I am vegetarian (2,5 years) and care about people, animals and the world in general!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I still travel when ever I get the opportunity! However now it is during school holidays only! Happy to show people around the Cotswold/Bristol on the weekends!

At the moment I am appreciating living (in/next to ;)) Europe and attending dance congresses!
(2017 Amsterdam salsa congress/ 2018 Riga Salsa Festival/ 2018 Warsaw Bachaturo/ 2018 Nottingham Bachatakiz/ 2018 Liverpool SBK Bachata festival/ 2018 Bristol salsa Congress)

I never used to use coachsurfing (only with/via friends with accounts), but I just had the BEST experience with our awesome host in Riga that I have decided to utilise my account!

Interests

I used to be a Bollywood dancer and performed in the London Olympics Opening ceremony!

I am a good listener and like to help people when I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very open minded

I will listen (and dance) to anything, but hard core rock or hard core rap!

Films:
childhood classic = Goonies
Rom coms! nothing too scary... I often forget I have watched something and realise half way through...
something that makes me laugh or teaches me something!
I like documentaries! I don't like to watch TV unless it's interesting or makes me laugh

I should read more...
The Power of Now
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

short story:
I like to find places "off the beaten track", a place where I can fully submerge myself in the true culture of the place i'm visiting... Already a month into my trip in (my first visit to) Indonesia, after exploring the Eastern Islands, Bali, Lombok (where I climbed Rinjani volcano), Sumbawa, saw Komodo dragons, manta rays and Flores, I decided to point my finger on the map over a cluster of islands, 38 to be precise. It appeared to be "just above" Bali, approximately 120 km and 120 km east of Madura Island, East Java. However it wasn't as easy as it seemed… travelling with a friend (who we later had to pretend we were married), finally found a boat to visit the cluster of islands for just 2 days (leaving our main backpacks - at the worst 'losman/hotel I have EVER stayed at)... cutting a long start short, we got stuck on the main island for 2 WEEKS due to weather conditions. During this time we had the most incredible experiences with locals. When we could finally leave on a boat - it was soooooo packed full we had to sleep on the very top deck outside for 12 hours during the night and basically pray that we survived... we did and I made a facebook page about visiting the Kangean Islands called @TravelKangean

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give advice for the following:

I did the Ho Chi Minh trail via motorbike (I was on the back) over 3 months in Vietnam and took the bike across the border into Laos!

I worked in the outback in western Oz (Newman) where I saved a lot to maintain my travel adventure and drove across Australia sleeping in a car!

I did a wonderful Thai Massage course in Lahu Village (Chiang Mai) which I can highly recommend!

I know an amazing place to stay on Koh Tao island Thailand, where I snorkelled simply on my own just of the beach from my shack, (no rip off trip required) - where I saw turtles, sharks (babies and parents...) stingrays, octopus!
