Overview
About Me
I'm a student with broad interests and a positive mindset. I am open to new experiences and I often feel the urge to go out and make my plans along the way, albeit in an independent and self-reliant manner. (I wouldn't go hitchhiking long distances without a tent, for example.) However I like good company, I can easily find myself silently enjoying the surroundings or reading a book.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people and learning about other cultures. Couchsurfing and hitchhiking have a common feature which really appeals to me. It adds a personal element to the journey which (often overly luxurious and expensive) hostels lack. I don't feel the urge to heavily socialize or make new friends, but I'm happy to casually hang out with and support travelers.
Trust in other people (together with common sense) is a good basis for traveling and can be very rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: A lot. Ranging from Django Reinhardt, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and Frank Zappa to Moby, the Gorillaz, Massive Attack etc.
Movies: Good storylines, such as The Green Mile and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
Books: Watership Down, Nobody's Boy (Sans Famille), Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, the Little Prince, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At the age of thirteen, walking 15 km to school through the snow at night.
Hitchhiking a total distance of 10.000+ km over the years.
Starting at midnight, hiking up and down Volcan Barú (3475 m) in Panama to see both the Pacific and Atlantic ocean / Caribbean sea at sunrise.
(Still working on it!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you stuff about astronomy, practice languages or teach you some guitar if you have one laying around. Maybe a game of chess?
What I Can Share with Hosts
