About Me

Hi,
my name is Jakub, live in Elbląg. As an archaeologist and a lover of history, will be happy to show you around the city and share a bed to sleep. With my wife I live in a two badrooms apartment with seperate kitchen. Flat is located in Elbląg (Osiedle za Politechniką neighbourhood), one hour by train from Gdańsk. Apartment isn't very large, there always be a place to sleep for two people, though.
My greatest passion next to archeology are low-budget travels, so if I only have the opportunity to help you on your trip, I will do everything in my power

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Once I thought that traveling is reserved only for the rich people, and lodging away from home must be in an uncomfortable tent or an expensive hotel. After the first low-budget trip with many adventures and wonderful memories I changed my approach. Today, more attractive than the four-star hotel is an apartment of cordial host, moreover visited places I discover thanks to residents, not guides.

Interests

First of all - traveling. The further and cheaper, the better. Outside travelling, I am interested in archeology and cultural anthropology, which involve my education. I am interested in people, their customs, beliefs and habits.
I am the author on the blog: www.brokeontheroad.pl - unfortunately it's in polish.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I love good music, regardless of genre. My top artists:
-Miles Davies, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, The Clash, Tom Waits, Manu Chao, Tracy Chapman, Erik Satie, Franz Schubert - now you know what I meant with "regardless of genre"?

Movies:
-Must have a message. American Beauty, Fight Club, About Time, Forrest Gump, everything directed by Wes Anderson or with Humprey Bogart. TV shows like Mr. Robot, Twin Peaks or Broen also are fine.

Books:
-Iwan Turgieniew, Mircea Eliade, Charles Bukowski, Michaił Bułhakow, Waldemar Łysiak, Wojciech Cejrowski, Oscar Wilde and much much more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. I married the woman of life
2. I was swimming in lake on Siberia
3. I climbed to the top to Vinicunca in Peru.

What I Can Share with Hosts
