About Me

CURRENT MISSION:
To immerse myself in as many different cultures as possible!

ABOUT ME:
I love food, music and art in no particular order! I find joy in learning about new things, I am a bit of an architecture nerd and therefore prone to staring at buildings for prolonged periods of time.

Music I like is pretty much anything, but I've enjoyed phases of hip-hop, funk, blues, metal, punk rock, house, drum and bass, rnb, and been really getting into country music lately. There are few things I enjoy more than diving into a new genre of music!

My family are all crazy about cooking - we live in the most diverse borough of London so we cook all sorts of food from all over the world, I particularly enjoy cooking with Italian or south Asian recipe, I'd love to cook for any host that would have me.

I enjoy watching a good game of sport with people, Arsenal are my choice for football, international rugby is great, used to watch lots of mma. I'm really intrigued my American sports, a friend has assigned me Baltimore Ravens but I can hardly claim to be a fan yet. I'll watch snooker if Ronnie O'Sullivan is playing.

I grew up in east London and moved to Sheffield for 3 years to study architecture, I now live back in London and working for a small architects practice called StateStudio based in Spitalfields. I am hopefully going back to university to study a masters degree in architecture with the Glasgow School of Art in mind!

I am a social drinker, and a social eater, and a social music listener. Exploring new places is one of my favourite past times, you'll find me with a sketchbook and a selection of pens.

PHILOSOPHY:
The greatest joys come from learning and teaching; new food, new music, new places, new ideas! Always be willing to learn about something new and to share what you already know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have travelled around before and I think there is no better way to enjoy a new place than with the people that live there, I'm always interested in different cultures and I think Couchsurfing is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and hopefully we can learn about/from each other!

I am new to Couchsurfing but think it is such a great thing and hoping to start building a network of friends from all over the world. I do really hope to be a host in the future when I have a home to call my own, in the time being I'm always interested to meet up with people, if you're ever in London or Sheffield I can recommend lots of good spots.

Movies: Enjoy a good British comedy - Peep Show and Black Books are particular faves. I'm discovering Parks and Recreation which is also brilliant, The Wire and Sopranos too. My favourite film is Memento, True Romance is a close second (crazy good soundtrack).

Books: I go through phases of reading books, I'm currently reading Deep South by Paul Theroux, I read Satin Island recently which I thought was great! A book I can always go back to would be Animal Farm.

Food: I know it this isn't in the sub-heading but I enjoy food too much to leave it out. Cooking with people is one my favourite things, always up for trading recipes and trying new tastes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode an ostrich when I was probably about 3 foot tall, it was simultaneously exciting and terrifying!
