Hi!

I am Boon Yeow (文耀) and I work in the legal industry in Singapore.

Having explored many European countries during my university days in the UK, I have come to see traveling as a way of life, a therapy from the hustle and bustle of work. A time for introspection and self-growth. So when the travel bug bites I find my attempts to resist futile.

I like studying languages. I have been studying French for a while now so I can get by with French. I decided to take up my second European language - German - 3 years ago. It hasn't been a walk in the park but I'm enjoying the ride. My favourite language is Chinese. Simply because it's a beautiful language with such immense depth that I can only strive to appreciate. And besides, it's my mother tongue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Instead of checking off boxes on a list of attractions, why not experience a city by being acquainted with the locals?

There will always be nooks and crannies, and idiosyncrasies that do not (fortunately) find its way into guidebooks. Therein lies the charm of exploring the city with locals - I experience the city from within, and from which I derive much joy.

Interests

I like to visit scenic places in general. A self-drive holiday is my preferred mode of travelling because it affords me with the greatest amount of flexibility in customising my trip.

Ideally in experiencing a city, I'd like to get to know the people, the food, the culture, and its history.
