About Me

Hi, I'm Ana and I love food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm just hopelessly in love with new languages and places. I think there's no better way to get to know a country or a culture than to talk with a native. It's more knowledge than any book could ever hope to offer. And as much as I love the different, I also love my country. Everything about it inspires me and it would be great to share it with other friends.

Interests

I'm an amateur guitar and piano player. Also a cinefile. Also a bookworm. Also, food.

Music, Movies, and Books

OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO HARD.
Okay, to start with music: The Beatles were my first love. And they drove me through old rock'n'roll lane. But brazilian music... That's what makes my heart the happiest.

Movies: Woody Allen introduced me to cinema. And throught him, I discovered Ingmar Bergman. Who made my acquaintance with Akira Kurosawa. To name a few of some favorites: Harold and Maude (all-time favorite), Zelig, Manhattan, Cinema Paradiso, Annie Hall, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Through a Glass Darkly, Amélie, Jules et Jim, Kill Bill, The Cranes Are Flying, City Lights, The Great Dictator, Battleship Potemkin, October, Inglorious Basterds, Taxi Driver, Vertigo, The Godfather, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the list goes on...

Books: Russian literature is a lifelong passion and made me start studying Russian hoping to someday read Dostoevski original writings. As to a favorite book, I'm always trying to choose between Les Miserables an The Brothers Karamazov. I also adore The Little Prince, Anna Karenina, Love in the Time of Cholera and brazilian poetry, I should also mention: Hannah Arendt.
