Chi sono
Most of my life I've lived in a small village in southern Finland. I'm born in the capital city of Finland but since the age of six I've slowly been turning into a country girl. We have always had plenty of space and time to play and our village has been a safe place to grow up. Since I've had such an idyllic childhood I hope I can help other kids around the world to have a great one as well.
Now I'm living in Helsinki and studying at the university.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
When I was 15 I joined here with a fake identity just to see how all these cool people were living. I wasn't going to use that account ever but I didn't even get to read other profiles before my conscience started nagging. I had to delete that account immediately and send a long apology to the admins.
When I turned 18 I happily joined the CS community with my real name and face. I think helping travellers is one of the best parts of living in Helsinki. Hosting will hopefully be one way to do that in near future!
Interessi
I've worked a lot as a substitute teacher and I'm really interested in education. What should we teach and in which ways? What is the role of school and home in the process of learning? How can we encourage people to keep asking and learning every day? I personally tried to make students think by themselves and laugh!
My other interests include theatre, cinema, arts, drag, doll houses, clothes, history, hippie era, cooking and baking, Sweden and other parts of the world.

Musica, film e libri
Music: Death Hawks, Talmud Beach, Mirel Wagner, Kari Peitsamo, PMMP and other good Finnish music from pop rock to psychedelia. Then Eurovision, Drag Race and other artsy and sophisticated brain food.
Movies: The Hard Days Night (I watched it about 15 times when I was 12 or so), Picassos äventyr, Beginners (2010), Youth (2015), Frances Ha, The Beasts of the Southern Wild, Star Wars, Paterson, Call me by yor name, Lady Bird
Books: Some recently read good ones: L'Étranger by Camus, Waiting for Godot by Beckett, Ouragan by Laurent Gaudé. And possibly my favourite book: White Hunger by Aki Ollikainen
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
In October 2015 I invaded my old secondary school for a month. I planned and executed a series of work shops with a theme of climate change and ecological lifestyle. With 14 and 15-years-old pupils we visioned our home village 30-years from today, wrote letters to the minister of the environment and cooked easy plant based snacks. With my mother I created a small booklet containing information, excercises, tips and recipes, which I shared for the pupils and teachers involved.
The whole project was a part of the Baltic Circle international theatre festival.

I want to help people to take steps towards a more ecological life. I want the changes to be easy and fun but also ambitious and meaningful. I've come a long way from the day I was eleven and decided to stop eating meat on breakfast. I can share experiences and since I'm still on this journey I'm happy to learn more.
My life goal is to become a polymath. My music skills are quite nonexistent at the moment so if you can teach me playing, singing or naming composers it would be great!
