About Me

I'm a published author who left my previous career in 2015 to travel and write full time. My goal is to make my way from my hometown of NYC around the world without flying. I'll be spending several months in Hong Kong to take a web development course but other than that my trip is very open ended.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What better way is there to meet locals who know the best parts of their towns and who are vibrant personalities in their own right? I look forward to returning the favor hosting people in the cities I stay in for extended periods.

Interests

I'm somewhat of an experience junkie, I'm try almost anything at least once. I love all types of live music but especially 80s, 90s and EDM. Also big into mythology, indie films, sci-fi, philosophy, cooking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent a month aboard a cargo ship crossing the Pacific Ocean. We left San Fran and made out way up to Alaska, then over to Russia to refuel, and port calls down the coast of China until I departed in Hong Kong. It was an eye opening experience spending weeks at a time with nothing to see but open ocean and sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hard lessons I've picked up from a near death experience and working 80 hrs a week at an extremely demanding job the last few years. The job taught me a great deal about myself, but if anything the brush with death validated that I made the right choice to leave and pursue what I felt I had to do, even if it didn't make sense to most people.

I'd love to learn about new experiences, foods, music and interests unique to my hosts and their towns

What I Can Share with Hosts

An open minded conversation, a dark sense of humor, an adventure to some place in town you've always wanted to try but never have, an appetite for learning new things
