Overview
About Me
I'm a 24-year-old student, born and raised in the Netherlands, but I've been following my heart around Europe for several years now. 1,5 years ago, I landed in Stockholm, where I'm currently taking an MA in Fashion Studies, a programme that probably reflects my interest in people, culture and history more than my interest in the latest trends (though ugly sneakers are sure to be keepers). It energizes me to meet new people and I'm always curious to know who you are, what you do and how you think - but if you like your peace and quiet I'll understand and respect it. I adore the buzz of city centers, coffee houses and the occasional dance party, but I appreciate the silence of museums, libraries, forests and botanical gardens just as much. I'll be happy if you're willing to tag me along somewhere, but equally glad to find my own way around!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As said above: I love meeting new people. Every person has so many stories to tell and we can learn so much about the world from each other - without even going far!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to host any couchsurfers myself so far; I've been moving around a lot in the last years, living in all kinds of overly strict housing situations. Hopefully this will change in the near future! Always happy to meet up and show you Stockholm :)

Music, Movies, and Books
This Is All by Aidan Chambers was my literary teenage anthem. Nowadays I read everything I can find, from Stevenson's Treasure Island to Van Reybrouck's Congo and from Haruki Murakami to Virginia Woolf. New recommendations are always welcome! Same counts for movies probably, among my own favourites are The Science Of Sleep and Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and anything Quentin Tarantino, but I'll watch Love Actually with you at any time of the year. I listen to/sing jazz music but I prefer to dance on afrofunk, hiphop, latin or the odd nineties hit.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in different countries and cities. It has opened my mind and heart.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can't teach you anything - but I'll be happy to share knowledge, experiences, interests, recommendations and vegetable pie recipes with you!
