About Me

I'm a bi-sexual, polyamorous, pagan, nudist aging hippie boy scout, orthodox eclectic omnivore, and Bodhisattva in training. Currently, I'm living alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meet people through both hosting and traveling. My little rural cottage is in what was once a commune dedicated to building small energy-efficient homes. They did that, then moved on and I'm a beneficiary of their hard work.
My place has passive solar, solar water heater with on-demand propane assist, wood stove, composting toilet, rainwater cisterns (potable spring water hauled in). Electricity is grid-tied solar.
It all seems very luxurious to me after living outdoors for a decade; city folk may find it a bit rustic. I have, and therefore offer travelers, very little privacy. This is essentially a one-room cottage with a sleeping loft. I'm a nudist, and frankly, this will work best if you are too.

Interests

I love growth and learning. I love books, ideas, discussions, stories. I am very interested in technology, both high and low. I love to innovate. I am interested in relationship. I insist that I am related to all, including you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer music whose style has no name.
I see very few movies, not sure I really understand the medium, or perhaps am simply too critical.
Some of my favorite authors are Robertson Davies, Patrick O'Brian, Michael Pollan, Fritjof Capra, Akhil Reed Amar, Timothy Snyder (just to name an eclectic few).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived in a tipi in the woods from 2004 until 2015.

Teach, Learn, Share

Recently I've given workshops on saw sharpening and building rocket stoves. I have a wood splitting workshop in the works. I enjoy (to put it mildly) passing on hard-won technical know how to those who intend to use it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories are really all any of us have.
