Overview
About Me
My full name is Alexandra Muñoz, and I am a California native, raised in Texas. I have lived no where outside of the United States other than Mexico, where I spent a year of my childhood.
After high school I jumped back and forth between living and attending universities in Oklahoma and Arkansas, though now I find myself settled in Northeast Oklahoma.
My first voluntary plane trip, (I say voluntary because my actual first flight was to Mexico when I was five, my mom had to give me cold medicine to make me fall asleep because there was no way I'd get inside of a giant bird), was to Savannah, Georgia to attend a literature conference. It was fantastic! After that small taste of what it was like to travel, and my living off of the idea of adventuring throughout the world for years before that, I've decided that I should probably stop being such a scardy cat and just do stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first heard about this site from an amazing music professor I had, during my freshman year of college named Dr. Cooper. He often told us stories of his adventures in Europe, specifically his love for walking The Way, otherwise known as El Camino de Santiago de Compostella. His talk of travel and adventure really fueled my want to do the same. So I found this site and it counts as a first step, right?
Interests
My passions include reading fiction, particularly anything that falls under science fiction/fantasy and magical realism/realism, as well as writing poetry and short stories.
A few of my likes include: editorial photography, digital collage making, the number three, Dr. Who, pepperoni pizza, netflix and chill with my cats, and watching re-runs of That 70's Show.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music is almost all music, my favorite movies are almost all movies, and my favorite books are just every book.
I have really enjoyed...
...listening to Kendrick Lamar, Ben Howard, St. South, The Smiths, and The Head and the Heart.
...watching The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Amelie, Big Fish.
...reading Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Fourteen Stories and None of Them Are Yours by Luke Goebel, and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me, doing something amazing means doing something that's completely out of my comfort zone, which is a rather massive zone. The most amazing of the things that I have done was agreeing to (letting myself get coaxed into) getting on an actual airplane and flying from Arkansas to Georgia for a literature convention. I do not regret it for a second, not even after having had my flight pushed back, delayed, cancelled three times within the course of one day.
