To meet new guys as I already did in the past during my trips.
Hotel do not provide kind people, and if so, it's not often.
Learn and share new things are always key in meeting new people!

To host people and meet them, making new friends across the globe.

Movies: To name a few: American History X, TLOTR, The Green Mile, Whiplash, The Dark Knight, Fight Club, Seven, Inception, Intouchables, Gladiator.
But I'm far less a movie fan now than before. I prefer spending time working on other things like photography, business, finance, or relationship.

Books: Not a big fan of reading and the only one I really loved was financial: Rich Dad Poor Dad, The 4-hours work week, Emergency.
