Overview
About Me
A short bundle of competitive energy with a filthy laugh. The world looks pretty from down here.
NB!!! If you are looking to surf, please read the My Home section. I NEED LOTS AND LOTS OF NOTICE, and can only host on the weekends
I work in administration (work to live, not live to work), and my partner who will be with me on my next trip is a primary school teacher (he's nice. I like him). I can't wait to show him the crazy, wonderful continent that I fell for last year on my trip to North America.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make new connections in this disconnected world. The joy of meeting a stranger and leaving as a friend. My brother and I (any references on here mentioning Dom?: that's him) met some awesome friends when couchsurfing and it really made our trip.
I don't really have a big enough space of my own to host (see My Home section), but when I do, I will - (which, unless I win the lottery, will be when I move out of this crazy town I call Londinium). This community is all about passing it forward - a pleasingly selfless corner of the internet. Couchsurfing! - Never Change!
Interests
I like food and drink, especially the two combined. Already day-dreaming at the gym about the food I'm gonna be eating on my upcoming trip.
Walking in the city, and hiking in the country. If I can walk it, I will.
Outdoors and nature, I like bird watching because I'm a little old lady before my time.
Board games, word games, card games, video games. Most games. Prior warning - I'm very competitive!
Music, especially folk, listening and playing.
Comedy, stand up and television. If you can quote Spaced at me then we will be friends forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling from Toronto to Austin over two months with my younger brother. It was our dream for a long time to make this journey together and unlike so many dreams, it actually lived up to reality.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can (try and) teach a bit of piano and violin. Although the last time I properly practiced either of the two was probably circa 2007. Much better would be to sing with you if you play an instrument. Depending on practice levels my voice ranges from kinda ok to feeble wobble. My opera singer aunt always tells me to practice more.
I'd like to learn more languages. I have very basic Spanish and French but don't know nearly enough dirty jokes in either language. I'd like to learn more about the place where you live and the places that you love. I'm fascinated by all the different people on this planet and to share that with someone is super cool, if also a super hippy thing to say.
I can share my sense of humour. I love fun and games and laughter - and quiet, philosophy and debate.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Every school report I ever received called me 'conscientious', so it's not big-headed of me to say that about myself. Couchsurfing is a real honour and I really respect that. To be let into someone's home is a special thing. I am clean and respectful and I will help with meals and cleaning as you need. As much as I enjoy getting to know people and their lives, if you prefer to have space when you host then I completely understand that. It is your home and I am lucky enough to have been invited in.
