About Me

Hi everybody! My name is Laura and I just finished studying Sociology and Philosophy in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I am born in 1994, have half of my roots in Australia and a quarter of my roots in my student wine cellar. At the moment I just arrived in New Zealand on a working holiday visa!

I can be a bit shy at first, but after feeling comfortable I am most often social and happy :) getting the most out of a moment or a day and finding peace in this life is my aim. Furthermore, I try to be understanding and open minded about everything. Shedding of some western belief systems as I hit the road. As for my core values; I believe that everyone and everything is equal. Most of the suffering on this planet is due to the believe of superiority and the strive to feed the super ego, which is never satisfied. I try to raise myself to become less thirsty for success and short-term thrills while staying an enthusiast in life. Let's all love each other and don't take life so serious!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet (new) people and hear their stories because I like to think that everyone has something to teach and/or show me. I think couchsurfing is an awesome way of getting to know all these amazing people in and from other countries, including you who is reading this right now.

Interests

I love nature, animals, hikes in nature, swimming, floating, writing about and discussing various subjects; such as anthropology, politics, psychology, art, culture, music, trends, spirituality and philosophy. I am vegetarian but other than that open to any food; I love cooking and being cooked for. As for my hobby's; they change a lot through the years. For now they are: reading, writing, yoga, travelling and bouldering.
