Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We think couchsurfing is a great way for travelers to be immersed in a culture and to discover a place. We also think it allows people to experience other kinds of exchanges : instead of paying for a room, guests can share their talents, knowledge, interests... with hosts.

Interests

We are very involved in the cultural life of Brest : we frequently go to the theatre (there is a wonderful performing art center in Brest which has great venues), to see art/photography exhibitions, concerts. Stephane is a musician (singing and piano) and Julie is a photographer. We try to include our sons in our life experiences as much as we can and as much as their age allows us to.
We are also food lovers : spending time in our kitchen preparing meals is one of our favorite occupation. We like good products and we buy our food from local and organic farming. We are also interested in zero waste and transition movements and do our best to develop a sustainable way of life.
We like being outside, enjoying the beautiful coast that is ours.

Another thing that we like is playing board games. We even (as old children) organize board games parties with our friends.

Classical music (early music mostly) - folk and jazz.
We are lucky to have a great essay movie theatre here.

We enjoy a wide variety of literature.

Teach, Learn, Share

We have a pretty good knowledge of our city and the surroundings and we'll be happy to share it with our guests. Maybe even go together to see a concert or a performance ?
