Hey fellow CS'er!

My name is André and I am from Portugal. I've spent the last years living abroad and travelling as much as I possibly can (and nearly not enough yet) and am always looking to meet new people and experience new places I visit as genuinely as possible. I think that's my main goal here in CS. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and to meet new places! Couchsurfing seems to be a great way of doing it. I've heard about it from my girlfriend and she hosted some people already, but I never did it on my own. I haven't been able to host anyone lately because I keep moving around too much and can't find a decent place to do it, but I will!

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Woke up in the beach with sand falling on top of me. A loggerhead turtle was digging its nest barely 2 meters away from me in the middle of the night, right where I fell asleep!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can't say that I am the most talented cook or even the most knowledgeable person on these topics, but I will try to share my Portuguese background to any who are interested. :) Not in a patriotic way, mind you, I'm not really anything like that - just for those who are actually curious!

For Couchsurfers who are looking to improve their language skills, I am also a very willing teacher and will gladly have a tandem or just an informal class, although I can only help you with Portuguese, Spanish and English. I am learning Italian, but... let's just say that's years away from being teachable to anyone. :P

On my end, I am very interested in getting to know the places I visit very genuinely, so I'll take any advice and/or company to achieve that - and that can range from a walk in a beautiful park to visiting a local pub. Very open to suggestions!
