Resumen
Sobre mí
Hello, I'm Rhonda Jo! Nice to meet ya! This year in June I'll turn 40 and my son Richy will be 11 years old. It's just the two of us, but we make a GREAT team! We have a fish tank with Tetras, Zebra Fish and one Pleco that is about 8 inches long - his name is "Keppy". Richy thinks Keppy looks like a flying dragon! So, about me: I work hard, therefore, I believe in playing hard too! You can't take it with you, right? I like to gift my son and I, with places, experiences and hands on activities that are fun, build knowledge and create memories. Other than that, we are normal, yet at times, crazy and fun seeking human beings. I look at each day as a blank page in the book of life - and it's up to us how we fill that page! If you wish to know more about us - just ask! Or better yet, why not make a trip and come meet us!
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I love traveling and experiencing different cultures. I love to meet new people and learn about different places! Until recently, I did not know the Couchsurfing site existed, and I was lucky enough to enjoy a Couchsurfing stay, see how it worked first hand, and learn that not only would I like to enjoy that experience again someday, but I'd like to give it as well! What better way to make new friends while embracing and learning the local culture , than to stay with someone local to the area your visiting. Also, I see Couchsurfing as a way to PAY IT FORWARD - even within a country - you find that people travel all the time for various reasons. You never know when opening your door and your couch, might make all the difference in the world to someone who wants to make a last minute trip to a funeral or a wedding or a class. Opening your door may determine weather that person can make that most important trip or not. I sincerely hope that I can pay it forward, help others - and make some new friends in life! This could be a very interesting journey!
Intereses
I have many interests - in fact, I can truthfully say that I'm NEVER bored. I enjoy being outside so much that I'm rarely home. Each season brings something new to do, and I'm open to try new adventures! Even when I am at home, there is always so much to do, or read, or projects to work on - I can always find something to do. However, when I have guests - I also know how to gather around the table, eat a meal together, enjoy conversation or watch movies. Sometimes we do need a little rest and relaxation!

Música, películas y libros
Music: I like just about all types of music that have a good beat and you can hear the lyrics. Personally, I love to dance - I enjoy music that makes me move! Yet, if your staying at my house, you can feel free to play your choice of music, chances are that I'll very much like it too! The only thing I ask please - if your listening to music with a lot of curse words or offensive lyrics - then please use your ear-buds so only you can hear.
Movies: Since we are outside so much, we really don't watch a lot of T.V. However, when we do, I'm very open. We do like a lot of SCI-FI, Comedies, Epic's like: Lord of the Rings/Hobbit and Transformers. I happen to like documentaries and the History channel!
Books: I collect a lot of books, as I love to read. Most are non-fiction, history related books. However, I'm not adverse to fiction, that is chalked full of historical references! I also collect Language books too. I have many different learning to speak books - but right now I'm focusing on Czech and German as I wish to learn those languages! I also collect cook books - if you come over and choose a specific recipe - we can try our best to make it!
Algo increíble que he hecho
Just one?? Really??? I have been very blessed in life, I've had many great adventures - and I still wish to have many, many more! I would be happy to tell you about them if you wish - just ask!
However, if I had to choose just one amazing thing - it would be having my son! Motherhood has been an experience within itself, and I find myself always learning something new. My son reminds me everyday, that I can accomplish ANYTHING I set my mind to - and that if I fail in an attempt, which sometimes we do, I can always TRY AGAIN. Life blesses us along the way with unexpected joys, we just need to recognize them and embrace them.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Not sure that I'm a great teacher .... I do not think that is my calling in life. However, I am very much like a sponge, soaking up information along the way. I think it is true the old saying "The day you stop learning, is the day you die." I am always learning something new and I very much love to "research" what I wish to know!
If asked to share knowledge that I have learned, I will. What I love to share more than knowledge - is experiences. I think people learn so much better, not by being taught, but by jumping in and getting hands on experience! When people visit me, I love to take them to places where they can explore and experience on their own at their own pace!
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Conversation, experiences and questions! I'm very inquisitive, I love to listen! Don't worry, I also love to talk too! When my trip is planned and budgeted correctly, I would love to bring my hosts a small gift from my hometown - that way I could share a little of where I'm from with them! Plus it's always nice to have a special way to say "Thank You"!
What I can share with those looking to couchsurf with me, is a bed, a couch, lively entertainment, conversation, a warm meal around the dinner table and if interested or if there is time - I can show them around Maine a bit - a little bit like a personal tour guide!
