Overview
About Me
I'm 20 years old (as of this moment when I'm typing this). I'm awaiting my matriculation into the National University of Singapore (NUS) which commences in August 2015. Meanwhile, I'm looking into travelling to different places to get a better appreciation for different cultures all over the world. Also, this platform will serve as another place for me to explore places even after I have gone into or completed my University.
I enjoy music, of a specific genre that I am unable to put a name to. I'm a dancer, hence some of the songs on my phone makes no sense to most people. I hate being static in a place for extended periods of time, be it holding the same job, playing the same games or knowing the same people. As much as I fear change due to the unknown it brings, it excites me. After all, what is adventure without a little bit of danger?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Looking for locals willing to share their culture when I'm in town. Yearning to meet new people and see what different places around the world have to offer. Of course, only locals will be more familiar with the terrain and the "secret" places that only locals would know. I hope to be able to get an inside look into the different places that I will be visiting.
Interests
My interests revolve around music, movement and art. In terms of music, my tastes are rather singular. I prefer jazz and blues over louder forms like rock and metal. The occasional upbeat songs sit well with me when I'm in the mood to dance.
Doing Break-dance, Hip-Hop, Popping several other forms of dance have become my way of shutting out the world around me and enjoying the process of moving to the music. Coincidentally, it is also another excuse for me to get off the couch and do some physical activity.
I also participate in many sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Rugby, Badminton and Basketball to name a few. I enjoy the team spirit in the sports I play as well as the thrill of making game changing plays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have not done anything that should be deemed as amazing, but I believe I have gone through my life quite differently from most. Growing up, I've always been intrigued with new skills from different sports; to music; to musical instruments; to dance; and I have constantly been experimenting and exploring the different genres each has to offer. I hope that through one of these I will eventually be able to achieve that "one amazing thing" and say I've "done it" somewhere down the road.
Teach, Learn, Share
I play the Guitar, play Ultimate Frisbee, Sing and do Hip-Hop Dance, all of which I'm willing to teach should anyone want to learn. I want to learn more about the cultures of people living in different parts of the world, specifically how they differ across continents. I want to know how people live and breathe life, what they do day-to-day and how they enjoy themselves.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my experiences of my life in Singapore, Having been through my hectic early academic years to finishing my National Service with the Singapore Armed Forces as well as the Singapore Police Force, I have plenty of stories to share with my Host-to-be. Also, should my host have an instrument or two conveniently lying around, perhaps we could put together a jamming session in the evening.
