Overview
About Me
I was born in Munich and I lived in a suburb of Munich for eleven years. Then my family and I moved to a small town in Lower Bavaria, which I didn't like back then:-) But now it's quite OK because my whole family lives there.
I'm a friendly person, but if something gets on my nerves you will realize it.
I like talking, even though I could be a bit shy. But as soon as I manage to overcome my first timidity it will be fun to talk and listen to me:-)
I'm also a very tidy person and I like it if things are on their place, so that I don't have to search for them a lot.
I like to travel and to meet new people. It's always interesting to learn something about other countries and cultures, especially if there is a huge difference to bavarian culture. Unfortunately I haven't visited as much countries as I would like to visit.
i studyED Chemical Enginering in Munich, which I finished 2016 with a Master degree. And I liked it very much :-) In my last year of studying I stayed in Toronto, Canada, for six months for a research internship at the university. It was the best half year of my life so far. I was really afraid to go there alone, but now I think it was the best choice I could have made:-) And at the moment I'm looking for a job in chemical industry.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some friends of mine told me funny things about CS, but I have been a bit sceptical at the beginning. But then I thought if not now when then? And meeting new people and gathering new experiences couldn't be that worse:-)
During my stay in Toronto I met many people on Couchsurfing meetings and some of them are now friends. They were all so nice and welcoming. Unfortunatelly, I never surved myself, but I know many people who offered their couches.
Interests
Unfortunately I'm not very talented in doing sports. I played tennis in school, but I stopped playing when I moved to Munich for studying, which I regret very much (not studying, but not playing anymore). However I'm still able to play, not like a professional, but having fun is the most important thing for me:-) I also started last summer to play again and if my time schedule will allow it, I will keep playing:-)
I love skiing, which my Dad showed me when I was 4 years old. And now I'm still very entusiastic about skiing and winter. My dream would be to ski in the Rocky Mountains, but the Austrian and Italian Alpes are also very cool:-)
In my spare time I like reading books (especially fantasy literature and thrillers) and watching TV-series. I'm also very interested in cooking and baking, which I learned from my mother and grandmother.
Another hobby of mine is solving puzzles or stuff like that, which perhaps is a bit strange:-) And if I find some friends or family members who want to play board games, I'm always in!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't listen to music very often, but if, it's alternative rock and stuff like that. My favourite bands are Billy Talent, Fall Out Boy, Simple Plan and Linkin Park. Sometimes I do listen to other stuff which depends strongly on my current mood.
I like watching movies and TV-series (perhaps I should watch less). My favourite ones are all X-Men movies and all movies of the Marvel Universe, especially Iron Man:-) But if there is only a bit of action, the film can only be good.
There are too much TV-series I like in the moment. Most of them are crime series like NCIS or fantasy stuff like Supernatural.
I don't have favourite books, only favourite authors like Cassandra Clare, Trudi Canavan, J. K. Rowling, Simon Beckett, Dan Brown and Tess Gerritsen. And of course some German authors like Kai Meyer. There are much more I like, but these are the most important ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There is only one thing I can think of at the moment which was really cool for me. I went on a white water rafting trip on the Ottawa river (I always wanted to do that) and I jumped into the river from a cliff. To be honest the cliff was not that high, but I was really afraid of jumping and than trying to swim to the shore afterwards. But now I'm glad that I did it:-)
I'm not sure if that counts. But I think everything could be amazing if you want it to be:-)
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you German (and some Bavarian words) and the German and Bavarian culture. I'm also not bad in maths, chemistry or some other science stuff.
I would like to learn more about other cultures and languages. I haven't been good in learning languages in school, but I will try:-)
