About Me
NOTE: At this time I am not able to accept surfers. But I still enjoy being part of the vibrant Couchsurfing community.:)
In my free time I create memories with friends, go on trips, study language, and relax with hobbies and good food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to experience other cultures and ways of thinking. I would love to share the best of where I live. And I hope to see the best of where you live too!
Interests
I am especially interested in Asian languages, countries, people, food, and culture. I speak some Japanese and I am a beginner in Mandarin and Korean. I love outdoor activities. I enjoy hobbies such as swimming, hiking, rock climbing, nature, and quietly sipping hot tea.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading. I have been known to read and enjoy an encyclopedia if there is no other reading material around. Currently I read vast amounts of Neuroscience academic papers for my academic development.
My favorite book is called Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder. It is about Dr. Paul Farmer's efforts to end the injustice of the vast disparity between healthcare for the rich and the poor. He prove that no one needs to die of preventable diseases because of a lack of money.
I enjoy something from every genre. I play guitar (badly). I enjoy singing (badly). I love music from around the world.
My favorite movie is a Chinese movie called Shower. It has always moved me because of the touching way it explores family and community.
I enjoy documentaries and Korean drama.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have seen is childbirth. Also, I watched as a cloud formed in columns of moisture bathed in light. Also, there was that one time I saw a bear pooping in the woods...:)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am interested in learning about pretty much anything. I love new experiences. It is through exposure to other ways of thought and cultures that the mind grows.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I ask to stay in your home I am not just interested in visiting your area, I am interested in getting to know you as a friend. I love trying new food. I love music and nature. And I love meeting other women whose lives have made them beautiful and strong people I can learn from.
