Overview
About Me
Weeeeeell, I'm a tiny Finnish university student majoring in English Philology. (Other study interests include Japanese language and culture, gender, lgbtqia, history, philosophy, politics, education and world literature.) My friends tell me I have a twisted, sarcastic sense of humour. I'm very talkative once you get me going on something I'm passionate about, although it can take me a moment to warm up. I'm rather easygoing & don't get shocked or annoyed by much.
I'm interested in what makes people and societies tick, and my mission in life is to gather as much experience as I can about the different ways people interact with each other in different corners of the earth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet different people, leading different lives.
If you're ever popping by Northern Finland, you're welcome to a bed in any of the places I have any say in~

Music, Movies, and Books
I've spent years reading books for my English Lit classes, but whenever I've free time you can find me reading fantasy (Robin Hobb, Tolkien), postcolonial works (gimme that Krik? Krak!) or anything with less focus on romance and more focus on social interaction, human psyche or the society. (If you haven't read Palahniuk's Fight Club, read it - the book is just as good as the movie! Or was it other way round...?) I'll listen to anything once (if it has a good beat or a piano score in it, oh yesh) and watch pretty much anything once.
Teach, Learn, Share
Uh oh. I'm always interested to hear & tell about different languages and cultures.
Now really, I'm pretty good with basic, easy extempore baking and cooking. I've also done my time in the student unions so I'm pretty good at organizing stuff and have an eye for language editing and proofreading.
