Overview
About Me
Hi everyone, my name is Eylül. I'm a recent chemical engineer graduate from Turkey.
Travelling the world has always been a dream of mine and I went abroad for the first time in September, 2016. It felt amazing - so I've decided I would go visit a new place whenever I can!
If you wanna know my personality, I may seem like a shy person at first but that's probably because I'm an introvert and it may take a few minutes for me to open up to new people.
I can talk about anything from science to books, from music to cinema, from politics to social justice for hours if I meet the right person. I love sharing a piece of mind and get a new perspective in return.
I'm also a feminist and a lgbtqia+ ally. This actually really limits the number of people I can be friends with, because you know, Turkey. It's hard to find people who think the same way I do. I always thought I was born in the wrong country - or the century!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm really interested in other cultures and hearing what they have to say about their lifestyle, I have lots of online friends that I'm constantly texting or skyping - I just feel happy when I interact with people who live far far away from me, but also share similar interests.
Interests
Sports, definitely. I play volleyball and tennis whenever I get the time. I also think about owning a bicycle but my city is not great for cycling so I pass. Writing. (Very amateurly!) Movies and books. Love 'em.
Trying to convince my cat to stop waking me up at 6.00 am every morning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently, I reunited a lost kitten with her human. The guy said she’s been lost for 3 weeks before I found her! It was freezing cold, like - 17 C cold, and I looked for her everywhere for like maybe three hours or so. At the end, I couldn't feel my legs or any part of my body honestly, but it was sooo worth it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I give private English lessons to multiple people. And I'm a self-learner. I've learned English by myself when I was 15. I've been pretty lazy since then but I've just started learning German so we'll see how that goes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If they're insterested, I can bring them Turkish coffee and teach them how to make it. It's a very strong coffee and goes well with a Turkish deight.
I can also cook & teach them a few simple Turkish dishes.
