Oi ! What is up ?
I'm Alix, 21 years old and currently living in the close suburbs of Paris, where i grew up.
I'm interning until January in a publishing house, doing communication and press relations ( whatever that means...).
I love to go out, but i'm more of a "beers in a cool bar with live music than crazy night club" person. I also love a good homemade diner with a great movie.
I'm not complicated, going with the flow. My optimism is definitely something that defines me. My number one rule : there is always a silver lining.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It all started with Costa Rica in August 2012 and since then i've traveled as much as i could and as my finances would allow me.
I'm a sucker for hostels, i've spent amazing days all over Europe in hostels. But after 3 years travelling, i thought it was time for a change, hence couchsurfing.
I was looking for something smaller, more focused on the city you're staying at. And couchsurfing answered my prayers. The ideal way to meet locals abroad whilst still feeling like staying at home is what really attracted me.

Interests

I love my friends and my family. They are awesome, so spending time with them is always pretty great. and i travel a lot with my sisters which is cool.
Travelling of course, otherwise i wouldn't be here. Western Europe is almost all completed for me, so i'd like to go East. But my next dream destination is South Africa, whenever i find the money !

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. it's just so wide, i'll love almost everything, i'm not picky really. But if you had to name some of my favorite bands, it'd be : Jungle, The Bravery, Boy&Bear, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Beatles, Disclosure...

Books. So hard to say ! I read, a lot, so my favorite books is different every month. Jonathan Tropper is definitely one of my favorite author. Harry Potter but that's an easy one. The Spectacular Now and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl were pretty good recently.

Movies. Same here. To name a few : the Riot Club, How to train your dragon, Birdman, Footloose, the Goonies, Across the Universe, Fight Club, the Cornetto trilogy, the Spectacular Now.

TV Series. Getting more and more difficult here ! I watch pretty much everything. It's my sister's fault, she got me into Buffy and Smalville too young, i got addicted. I am currently working on a subway map of series, so it's pretty cool. Anyway, it's something i love so do not hesitate to throw the subject in the conversation, that's definitely one way to get me to talk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's a tough one.
I guess volunteering for a month in a sea turtles protection camp in Costa Rica three years ago is the most unique thing i've ever done.
i was there to just discover and be useful. I ended up in love with a country, with new friends and the travel bug. Plus seeing a hundred baby turtle come out of their nest to get to the water really is one amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all for sharing stories, that's what got me into travelling.
I can teach how to bake amazing chocolate chip cookies ! and i guess, some French !
And, i believe that everyone's got something to teach, so i definitely have something to learn from everyone !
