About Me

Hello!

My name is Valérie and I am a geography student, adventure lover and also a curious person. I like to discover new places and learn from other by sharing experiences.

Ma langue maternelle est le français alors n'hésitez pas à m'écrire dans cette langue!!

Hablo también español :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used Couchsurfing on a Europe trip, and I really liked to meet people and places through this medium. I would like to use it in Argentina to get to know the country lived by its people.

Interests

I really like being outdoors and doing all kinds of adventure like going for a multi-day hike, cycletouring, camping. I also like just being outsides, in a beautiful spot, and enjoying a view, a lake, a beach, the stars, etc.

I enjoy cities as well, particularly discovering them by walking or biking. I love neighborhood life in a city, getting to know the different personalities of each. I like the little cafés, the street art, the live music that one could find in a big city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have very ecletic tastes, and I always like to discover some more, from traditional music to emergent new bands. I especially enjoy alternative rock, indie and latin music (NOT reggaeton but almost anything else).

I'm really bad at names, so I'm not really good in a film conversation. Again, I like different type of movies, as long as they make you think or have a meaningful message.

I love reading. I like fiction books that helps you understand some realities, historical facts, social issues. Not a surprise, I like books that adress the subject of travelling and spirituality. I also like non fiction books, that can help me understand better our world. Some of the authors that left a mark on me are Bernard Werber, Hervé Kempf, Naomi Klein, Isaac Asimov, Alan Watts and Thích Nhất Hạnh.

I'm currently getting to know some quebec's litterature and discovering poesy that I actually like. Thanks to Jacques Poulin and Natasha Kanapé Fontaine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? I would say biking from Montréal to Le Bic national park by myself, experience that made me proud of myself and led me to see the good in most people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach French and a little bit of english and spanish. I can also share basics about yoga (philosophy and simple postures). I can also make you some of the best tofu in the world, that will remove all of your prejudices on vegan food :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Discussions, food, different perspective... I can cook some vegetarian food for you and help you with houswork like dishes and gardening.
