Overview
About Me
I've worked the forests of Montana, Idaho and Arizona as a trail crew worker, surveyor and firefighter. Then, after teaching English in Bolivia, I traveled til my money ran out. When I returned to the states, I went to sea and surveyed offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for a few years to put myself thru school in Montana. After I became a teacher, I taught in Idaho and Arizona., but that wasn't for me, so I became a nurse.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people like you, share ideas, experiences and laugh. Very soon, I'll be traveling south via BMW motorcycle and volunteering in the towns that I'll live in. It would be nice to return the favor to other Couchsurfers (like you) as they travel thru Latin America.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Before winter had a chance to really settle in, I bought my first car, a blue one, with a hundred dollars and a case of beer. Then leaving Montana, I visited friends in California before selling it Sunday night to another camper in Miami, the night before my flight left for Quito. With about $4,000 , I traveled for the next year and a half thru most of South America. Mostly on my own, but sometimes with locals or other travelers. We rode in trucks, buses, boats and lots of miles hitchhiking.
Teach, Learn, Share
This November I'll be going down to the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala for several weeks to study Spanish and volunteer after classes are over. Years ago, as a new nurse, I volunteered in a small hospital in the highland village of Nebaj. Puedo ensenar ingles, primer auxilio, dibujar y pintar.
