About Me

I am a second year student at the Charles University in Prague. I am studying Theatre Studies. I grew up as a "military brat" so we have moved a lot throughout my childhood, so I like getting to know new cultures and people. I love dogs and food of all sorts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people. I like hearing their stories and getting to know the originality of their culture. You can hear it from others who have visited the places, you can read about it books, but I don´t think there is a better way of learning about a culture than from people who actually live there and experience it every day.

Interests

Singing, playing the guitar, double bass and piano (at an amateur level), reading, travelling, hiking, cooking, movies, theatre, acting, dancing...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and thanks to my major I have to read on daily basis, which is not that bad. :) But there have been some favorite books of mine that I find myself returning to in the past couple of years - for example: On the beach - Nevile Shute, Jonathan Livingston Seagull - Richard Bach, The man who planted trees - Jean Giono,... and so many more.

My most favorite thing in life is music. I can´t imagine a day going by without listening to at least one song or just humming something. Few of my favorite memories are sitting at the campfire with my friends and playing the guitar and going through all the "traditional" Czech songs, laughing and just having fun. I do enjoy a lot of 80s and 90s music, folk, alternative rock, pop, rap... basically everything that has a catchy tune and meaningful lyrics.

There are so many movies that I love but my favorite ones by far are from the director Joe Wright.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was seventeen I have decided to return back to the United States to live with my family there. I lived there for three years before returning to Czech Republic. This was the most difficult time in my life yet, but I am very grateful for all the people I have met and the journey that I have experienced. I learned so much about myself and it helped me grow and become the person I am today. :)
