About Me

Two years ago I decided to drop everything and move to Barcelona to teach English and learn Spanish. Ijust recently returned to the US ate traveling Europe and teacging for 2 years. I'm now back in the Seattle area. I love meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, and helping people get to know whatever city I'm living in at the moment! When I return to the States I'd like to host people in my home and show them around the Seattle area!

I believe that the heart of any city or country lies in its people. I love Couchsurfing because it offers the opportunity to have genuine experiences with local people and really learn about the city you're visiting.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: yes please (?!) I love classical, top 40, some country music, anything with a salsa beat that I can dance to (!), 80's "hair bands", oldies, jazz, blues, reggae, etc, etc
...

I love dancing salsa and bachata. I also enjoy ballroom dancing (waltz, rumba, foxtrot, etc) but I havent had as much practice. :-)

Movies: silly comedies (Elf), romance (Notting Hill), drama/suspense (Copycat), (no horror... I'm a scaredy cat), Star Trek (total nerd and I love it!)

Books: The Prince of Tides by Pay Conroy is my favorite book, and I also really enjoyed the Harry Potter series. I used to read a lot more than I do now...currently my "down time" is spent learning Spanish or finding people to converse with!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked as a 911 operator and police/fire/ems dispatcher for over 13 years... in December of 2014 I quit my job, became certified to teach English, changed my path, and moved to Spain! And I'm working on learning Spanish, which is really hard as an adult, but an incredible experience :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very open and friendly, and I'm excited to make new friends! I'm an open book, so if there's dieting you're doing to know about me, don't hesitate to ask! (aka not easily offended)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Passion for learning about everything local, and good conversation :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
