About Me

I'm a District of Columbia native and I currently work in Virginia. I know everything about the history, culture, and the subcultures here. If you haven't visited the States and you want to check out the scene in the DC area, I'd be a perfect host.

I'm not accepting guests right now, but I will be soon and I'd love to meet up with new people that are visiting and want to connect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted family and friends before, but this is my first experience with strangers. Meeting new people is really my thing because I'm pretty outgoing and love music and laughter in my space--and in new spaces!

My Couchsurfing experience in New York was amazing. I met a cool host in Brooklyn who took me out for seafood and shared things about his culture and background with me. That's the stuff I dig. That's why I'm here. I'm hoping to learn something from each experience on here.

Interests

I like to write poetry and songs. I spend a decent amount of time checking out indie music scenes, too. I've been to LA and NY before just to check out new artists and see them live before they start trending. I also like painting and calligraphy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like house and hip hop--especially DC hip hop. Rick and Morty is my favorite show. As for books, I'm into anything thought provoking or funny, whether it's fictional or not. 'How to Be Black' by Baratunde Thurston is a good one. Aside from that, I'm a sci-fi junkie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently hiked a mountain for the first time last week & loved it. I also went cave diving in Virginia with some folks I met on MeetUP. Now I'm ready for new terrain!

Teach, Learn, Share

My degree is in English, and my focus was on teaching students with English as a second language (ESL). If you wanna pick up some proper English--and some D.C. slang, I'm your all-in-one for that endeavor.

What I Can Share with Hosts

English. East coasts trends. D.C. slang & music. I have a car, a keyboard, some old English tutor books, and a rainmaker. Let's see what magic may come.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago

Countries I’ve Lived In
