About Me

Although I haven't visited as many places as I've always wanted (yet!), I still try to wander around and explore as much as I can. Definitely a night owl, I'm hooked up on good books, good films, good music and good wine. Even if I say I'm more of a thinker than a talker, I can still talk hours when I catch the mood. I live by the sea, I can definitely repeat after John Muir that, "going to the mountains is going home."
I love meeting people, listening to their thoughts or just goofing around. The thing that drives me insane is judging others so I try not to do this - the same applies to all kinds of stereotypes which I find repulsive. I'm a strong fighter for equality and freedom, trying to believe in good, passionate and interesting people.
I've also graduated from the university with a MA degree in English Philology and this is what I do on a daily basis - I teach others, sometimes translate some texts, usually write my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I love meeting new people, learn about cultural clashes, find out what I like about different views, visit new places and finding the forgotten beauty of the town I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Looking at my playlist, one could assume I'm a weirdo :) well... it's a fact that a whole variety of music genres appeals to me. Still, I love the old rock songs (including the ones by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Guns N'Roses, Rodriguez, AC/DC, The Killers, David Bowie, Iggy Pop or Nick Cave), but also some newer stuff from Alt-J, M.I.A., Speech Debelle, Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay or Savages. As you can see, it's all mix'n'match :)
As for books, I love Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Zadie Smith, Jonathan Safran Foer, Margaret Atwood, Colm Toibin, John Maxwell Coetzee and many, many more.
When it comes to movies, the ones that really made me rethink everything were definitely Mon Meilleur Ami, A Single Man, Carol, The Reader, La Vita Es Bella, Girl, Interrupted, The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation and a few more.
