About Me
Hi! I'm sam. I'm a 22 years old medical student from Sherbrooke, a small town about two hours east of Montreal. I took a year off university to travel and live something different. Not that I don't like to study, i actually love it, but it's easier to do this at a young age than later. I'm not accepting guests because I'll be away for 6 months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think people make places, so i want to meet the right kind of people. Plus, making friends with locals is the best way to find the awesome and hidden places-to-be.
Interests
I am a very curious boy so i have a lot of interests in life. As a career, i want to study the mind and the brain. That's why i chose to study medicine. I also considered economics and physics. I used to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, but now i mostly do strength and conditioning. I want to learn how to surf, sail and scuba dive.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different music but right now it's mostly EDM or John Frusciante's solo albums. My favorite movies are Christopher Nolan's and Wes Anderson's movies. As for books, my favorite fiction authors are Tolkien and George R.R. Martin. I also read a lot of non-fiction, like the biographies of Pablo Escobar, Chris Kyle (American Sniper) and Stanley "Tookie" Williams. Last book i bought was Chris Hadfield's guide to life on earth, but i didn't read it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To pay for my traveling this year, i joined the first army reserve and went on basic training for officers with the regular force in Saint-Jean. It was amazing because i got to learn a lot about adventuring skills, leadership, and also a great deal about myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My best case scenario is that we have a lot of fun together so we can share good memories later.
