About Me

Hey I'm Freddie. I'm interested in poetry, anarchist and liberationary politics and jokes that have no real basis in the long tradition of humour. I'm one of those simultaneously anxious and extroverted people so hanging out or being alone are equally beautiful/torturous for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To stick it to the gig economy.

Also currently renting with a couple of friends and we thought it'd be good to host while we are vaguely stable. Most of the reviews are on my housemate's page but I'm good too I swear.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music at the moment is still a bit heavy on the sadboy shit but generally I'm mainly into lyrics folk like
-Leonard Cohen
- Tom Waits
- Noname
- Aimee Mann
- Bright eyes

Generally I'm really bad at remembering anything about films or if I've even seen them in the first place. But "The Wall" and "The Fountain" were two films that made an impression on me. Maybe I just like definite articles.

Books are great.
- Borges
- Neruda
- Leonard Cohen's written stuff (Check it out it's great)
- Jennifer Egan
- García Márquez
- Eavan Boland
- John Berger
- Joy Williams
- Orwell
- Huxley
And loads more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was twelve I got to fly a plane for about two minutes and tried to nosedive into an ancient castle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm qualified as an ESL teacher so can help out with English if that's the kind of stuff you want. Also I could rant about philosophy or history or something.

I'm learning Spanish at the moment but am also generally interested in the languages people around me speak. Give me your favourite words.

As a writing kind of person I've always been jealous of musicians and their ability to jam together so if you want to do a writing jam I'm usually up for that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Various recipes from my own style of cheap unhealthy veganism. I can do monstrous things to tofu.
Also I know a number of terrible jokes and less terrible games if that's what you're into.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, England, France, Morocco, Wales
