I am a 20-year-old boy studying medicine. I am interested in science and somehow in philosophy. I believe that people have their rights to choose their own lifestyles, as it does not elicit immediate or direct harm to the others. I do have any religious belief but I do think that religions make man better. I just cannot persuade myself to fully believe in the existence of an omnipotent god.

I want to meet and mingle with local people all around the world instead of just doing sightseeing. Wish that I can understand how the local people view their own country, in order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the place apart from the impression portrayed in the media, since nowadays our mind is always shaped by what we see on facebook, tv, etc. Not until you travel and talk with the locals will one realize that the world is not the same as one thought.

Interesses

Reading, watching foreign language movies(i feel better when I watch people talking in unknown dialogue and understand the whole story by reading the subtitles; i don't know why), watching football and drinking, especially beer.
I also play GO which is a kind of chess with black and white pieces, but very few people know the rules.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I don't really have a special preference on music.

In general I love Iranian movies, particularly those from Jafar Panahi. I am just not stunned by all those action movies or those visual effects. For me movie is a window for me to look into the life of the others in different spacetime. And sometimes you do find resemblance so you could reflect a little bit.

My favorite book is Kafka's the castle. The alienation tormenting K. is somehow similar to what i have faced with. I also like the style of Dostoevsky, who masters the psychology of men who are on the blink of collapse mentally. Any of their novels is a masterpiece. You must start reading them if you haven't done so :)

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

I did my first camping in Japan, on one of the mountains there. The time was May but the camping ground was still, to my surprise, covered by snow. I got no plan B so I just camped and put on all my clothes stored in my 7-kg-heavy backpack (not so well-equipped, huh). At night the temperature fell to negative five and the coldness just penetrated my tent. I couldn't sleep for nearly the whole night but luckily I survived.

I also joined a volunteer program to teach little kids in Egypt English. Though I ended up just playing without imparting them too much knowledge (due to the language barrier) but I encountered really nice muslim people and the month spent there is one of the coolest experience that I've ever had.

I follow the latest news in China and Hong Kong, and I usually read quite a lot of commentaries. If you are interested in these places, I can tell you a lot about the history, culture and politics.
I don't usually cook but I could cook as well; the taste should (hopefully) be fair but I don't guarantee that the dish would be in Chinese or Hong Kong style.
I can also bring you a little souvenir from Hong Kong, and may show you around when you come and visit Hong Kong.
