Overview
About Me
Traveling by land since last June, I spent five months in central Asia with a friend of mine and, after leaving the area (which we fell in love with and now miss very much), we crossed China to reach south east Asia. Now my friend flew back home from Myanmar and I have been going solo for a month - North East India wanderings it is, before trekking the Himalayas and finally heading home at the end of May.
Background things : graduated in 2017 in "Peace Studies" (International relations Master's degree), though originally more of a literature lover as my undergraduate was a Philosophy bachelor - which I really enjoyed ! I suppose that choosing geopolitics as my second field of studies/work had something to do with trying to understand the world a little more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
All reasons stated above and many more
Interests
I broke free from the classical conservatory, but still enjoy playing music when I get the chance (violin, viola, piano...). Currently, bass guitar is the next instrument I am trying to seriously get better at. Raised through the sweet sound of Jazz (which I still love), I did emancipate to explore a few other styles growing up.
My other random interests, hobbies and passions include hiking and wild camping, history, classic and modern literature, cooking - a rare pleasure when you are traveling... right now, I'm also getting interested in photography, cinema (unfortunately poor culture) and graphic novels.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my all time favored music band is probably A Tribe Called Quest. I'll just quote some of the artists that go through my mind - Esperanza Spalding, John Coltrane, Maurice Ravel, Jacob Collier, Cypress Hill, Ghostface Killah, Anderson Paak... And then Jean-Sebastien Bach, Herbie Hancock, Duke Ellington, Take 6, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Bird, Miles...
When it comes to books, it's an old love story and unfortunately it's not easy while traveling. Swapping books with other travelers is the best thing though :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitching my way out of China on a cargo boat down the Mekong, all the way to Lao, is probably the wildest thing I've recently done in this trip
Also buying a donkey in Kyrgyzstan in order to mountain hike in the absolute wild during ten days
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm dreaming of trekking the Himalayas, would love to develop my language skills, learn meditation technique - and overall be humbled by the world (which of course starts with knowing my own homeland)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Love, enthusiasm, of course any help you might need at home, share stories and activities if you have time to do so - but I also know how to be discrete and don't mind doing my own thing.
