Hi! I'm a Wildlife/Environmental Biologist (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) from in Mataró - a town 30 km far from Barcelona (Catalonia). I'm currently living in San José (Costa Rica), where I arrived as an exchange student for five months and decided to stay. I am doing my master's specializing in coral reefs and coral reef restoration.

I'm really curious and I would love to visit and explore the world as much as possible. I would also consider myself as kinda dreamy and open-minded.

I would love to travel the world as a backpacker after finishing my studies, and specially visit SE Asia and the Himalayan region. One of my dreams is to visit Bhutan and Tibet one day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people from all over the world, make friends and get the best of each stay.

Also, staying with the locals gives you the chance to get to see things that normal tourists don't - getting off the beaten path - and to get to know the country you're visiting in a completely different way.

Interests

I love travelling, reading and, as a wildlife biologist, snorkelling, diving and nature in general (very into both botany and zoology).

During my free time, I try to be outside as much as I can - love going for but I also enjoy playing videogames and reading.

I'm keen on photography as well, but I'm still learning!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love music. My favourite styles are British classic and punk rock, and I also love jazz, swing, bossa nova and classical music. I'd say Tom Waits and David Bowie are some of the artists I love the most. And I am also a Beatlemaniac!

My favourite books are '1984', 'Animal Farm' (both by George Orwell, who is my favourite writer so far) 'Walden' (by Henry D. Thoreau) and 'Lolita'. Been reading Tolstoi for a while and I'm really enjoying it too.

I'm also really into Harry Potter, as I grew up as a potterhead (loved the books and also the films). 'Into the wild' is one of my favs too, as I find the story truly inspiring. Other ones are Annie Hall, Manhattan, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Amélie, Juno, Labyrinth...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far, travelling to seven different countries in just one summer!

Also, while in Costa Rica, I've seen sea turtles 'arribadas' in Ostional and had the opportunity to work with sharks in the North Pacific.
