About Me

CURRENT MISSION

- Sharing and Enjoying!-

I love to travel around the world and discover new places and cultures, but above all I like to meet different people from all over the world. Traveling for me means to get to know new people, to share ideas, to get to know different thinkings and perceptions of life. I think that we can learn from each encounter - about different lifestyle, about ourselves and about how we want to live our life. For me, it has always been fascinating that everyone has like its "own reality" in which she/he lives in. Therefore, I am curious about getting to know different spirits to enlarge my "little" horizont.

ABOUT ME

My parents are Vietnamese but I was born in Germany and grew up in a little beautiful town called Meissen. So I am a mixture of Vietnamese and German culture! Actually, it is exciting, but sometimes it can be hard to reconcile those 2 different mentalities. I have to admit that after some years of travelling my national backround got less important for me as I realized that I feel more and more like a World-Citizen as I've been living in several countries.

Friends describe me as a "FREIGEIST" that means a free minded person who loves to question society conventions and thinkings. On the one hand I can talk seriously about thinks, but on the other hand I can easily laugh about myself and enjoy very simply and stupid jokes...

Furthermore I love simplicity in different aspects of life... thats what I actually learned while travelling with a small backpack around the globe, as I realized that we actually don't need much to be happy... just some nice people with good vibes around, a warm shelter, some good music and delicious food! :)

What else can I say about me? As my mother always wanted to have a daughter, but she got me.... she trained me how to cook rice at an age of 6 ... :D So I am able to cook decent meals and love mixing Asian and European cuisine!

Furthermore... Music always guides me throughout the day, usually I travel with my Ukulele or small guitar. So we can sing some songs together :)

What else can I say about me? Well, as Asian I get red in my face after a Mon Chéri or half a beer, as I don't have the enzym to break down alcohol... that's often tiring and embarrassing. :D

Moreover, I think that I am trying to find a good balance in life between science and following my gut feeling or some call is also "to follow my heart". In western society I feel like that we became way too rational that we lose our natural instincts.

What Else?? If you want to know more about me... then maybe reading my references would help ! 😋

PHILOSOPHY

- "LET'S SEE" -

HAHA, this one decribes me so well! Often I don't make any plans and try to do things out of the moment, or trust my gut feelings and somehow it works and turn out to be cool.

- "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye"

A Quotation of one of my favourite books that is called The Little Prince ( Saint Exupery)

-"Collect moments, not Things"-

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

... because I am a traveller (and not a tourist).

For me it is most important to meet people while travelling, whether locals or travellers. I think a local can help you experiencing a place in an authentic way... not only to see the beautiful facade, but also to understand what's really going on behind the scenes.

Then I am basically curious about other peoples life-stories and the different cultures which make our world so much colourful.

Morover I simply love the philosophy of sharing things and spending a good time with some people, no matter which religion, skin color or ethnos they belong to.

I appreciate every encounter and believe that we can learn something from every person on earth.

The world is so big and Couchsurfing helps us a lot to discover a bit more of it, to enlarge our horizon and to make friendships with people on the other side of the world! 😊
