About Me

My name is Amalie, and I'm a positive and weird girl (some call it funny:p). I love to meet new people and share experiences. A happy life, is by my opinion filled with: dancing, singing, jamming, hearing concerts, sitting around campfires, playing almost every kind of game, eating lovely dinners, walking/running/enjoying nature and partying at festivals!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With a desire to travel, but not much money to make it possible, I found the concept on couchsurfing amazing! I have big travel plans for the future, so here is a good place to start. I will hitchhike around Europe, live in France and Uganda and visit USA and Australia at some point during the next 2 years :D

Interests

hiking, hitchhiking, nature & survival, psychology, filosophy, music, literature, people's stories :), dancing, singing and partying :D Always trying new things, but in the end a perfect weekend would consist of some active sport, a concert and a low key sunday with a walk, good book, boardgame/computergame, mindtwisting series or movie to top it all of.

Music, Movies, and Books

All too many.. fightclub is a good movie, also Memento, The Butterfly Effect, Twelve Monkeys, Shutter Island, Interstellar, Inception, Mr. Nobody, Arrival and of cause The Matrix! I love Arctic Monkeys, Major Lazor, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Strokes, Stromae, MØ, The Black Keys, Kygo, Maroon 5, Muse, C2C, Anderson .Paak, Foster The People, Earth, Wind and Fire, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Foreigner and many others.
Robinson Crusoe is a classic and a "must read" for any adventurous and nature-loving person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I hiked 100 km alone in Denmark, for my first real hikingtrip as a teenager. It was amazing and an extraordinary experience, when you were alone, but also met and talked to people everywhere all the time, also a bit scary as a young girl.
- Half-Marathon
- Lots of hiking, sailing, climbing, hours and hours of concerts in a row! (once 10 hours straight with Artic Monkeys, Gramatik, RHCP, Major Lazor, Die Antwoord)

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to live in France sometime, so I can learn to speak the language fluently!
And if you're up for it, I can teach or beat you in any drinking game or board game ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share experiences and stories from hiking, hitchhiking and other journeys :D I'm a good listener and very open minded and curious about all cultures and just everything I haven't seen, done or heard of before! I have a broad spectrum of interests, so whatever you have as your passion, I would participate with joy in any meeting, experience or discussion about it. Try me ! ;)
