USA - SUMMER 2015

To be honest, this is a first big trip of my life. The decision to do something different during summer came from my friend who didn't go into it. So no festivals, lazy days on cottage with friends, but adventure (for me at least).

Now, I spent almost two months working as a housekeeper in spirit Camp Danbee, MA. I met a lot of interesting people from different countries and cultures.

But I also found, that it is not so easy to left a "comfort zone", stop talking just with people from Czech Rep., cause there was a lot of them here. It is also reason why I am here on couchsurfing, I mean, - try to do it differently.

After camp ends, me and my three Czech friends, who I met on camp, plan to visit the west coast, classical road trip - cities, National parks. So, I will be glad, if someone from CS community would want to meet us.

ABOUT ME (finally)

I found myself as a kind, friendly person who avoid conflicts, maybe bit shy in new company, but give me time and you will be surprised.

I really enjoy time with my family, especially weekends we spent on our cottage near Prague (totally miss them, now!).

I study at University of Chemistry and Technology here in Prague, where I live since I was born. My study program is called Process Engineering and Management, how cool, and I will be chemical engineer one time. I already finish my second year and I'm preparing to write my thesis next year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get in touch with people, sharing good mood, knowledge, memories.

Interests

Not to be general, I would take it as a brainstorming -

Frisbee
We established the first ultimate Frisbee team at our university few months ago, I like the way we meet in park near school, playing and then socializing with good beer.

Tennis
As a ex-badminton player I could not ever be good in it, but I enjoy every time I play. (Honestly, It was not so many times in my life, mostly during this summer in Camp Danbee.)

Gardening
Family, cottage, weekends, lazy afternoons.

Visiting music festivals/concerts
I love spending time with my love in this way, or just relaxing somewhere in park. We are fans of the Czech bands, especially rock, punk, ska ones. Or we visit concerts of our other friends.

Reading books
I don't have so much time as I had before for reading, but as I start, it's really hard to stop me. It makes me no problem to read whole night.

MOVIES
I'm not quite big fan of watching movies, I don't start watching on my own, I rather take a book or watch serial. But as someone said lets go to watch, I don't mind. My favorite ones? Don't know, as I remember any, I will add it!

BOOKS
I read mostly fiction of czech authors, and/or classics, then fantasy or scifi.
Presently, I'm on a Prachett's wave, I love his Disc-world-series.
I grew up with Harry Potter series and reading books and fan-fictions took quite big part of my life.
I liked anti-utopia books written by Orwell or Huxley. Don't you think that Brave new world slowly becomes reality, do you?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I prepare my own homemade soap. It makes me really proud of myselve, I feel like a big chemist!
