About Me

Bonjour!大家好! Heyo! Hola! I'm an English language teacher working in Shanghai. I'm originally from Seville, Spain but I was partially raised in New York. I'm a traveller by desire and an educator by profession.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My interest in cultural appreciation has been brewing for some time now, ever since I was a child in fact. That kind of appreciation led me to study what I did, languages and cultures, thus I take that into account when it comes to meeting new people all around this beautiful blue ball. In short, couchsurfing allows me to connect with people, which is all I really want to do in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

3AM, and It was dark. The sea was making the boat pitch up and down like a yoyo on meth. I was there with my rod in my hand, a beast in the water, and a spirit in my head that said, you. will. be. mine. I reeled up the line as fast as I could, the rod made my biceps scream for mercy as I hauled in the biggest striped bass of my life. There it was in front of me, a fish not worthy of a state record by any means, but worthy of a memory that'll stay on my memory walls for as long as I remember. Also it was delicious.

Teach, Learn, Share

In the chinese language there's a practically untranslatable word called "yuanfen" 缘分, which in essence means lot or luck by which people are brought together. As a lover of languages, I want to know a word that's unique in as many languages as possible. As a lover of conversation, I'll share beer, cuz how could you not.
