About Me

!!!! CURRENTLY NOT IN BORDEAUX !!!

Hello strangers, welcome to my profil ! :)
I'm Mathilde - difficult pronunciation, so you can name me Mathou - I'm a 21-years-old girl, and I come from Chartres ( a city next to Paris).

For studies, I moved to Bordeaux in July 2015. I'm living with my grands parents - two adorables and funny people - in an atypical house next to the city center.

What about my behavior ? I can say that I have all the qualities in the world, You are not obliged to believe it. What I'm sure is that I am someone respectful, friendly, funny and talkative. I'm an art lover, if you love it too, it is likely that we do a sleepless night just by speaking about art ... especially if you also love Kubrick!

I'm very open-minded, I can talk about everything, like politic, literature, history, music... Above all I want to know other cultures, lifestyles because I think that Couchsurfing can be a great way to be open to the world, but especially to the others.

MY INSTAGRAM : https://www.instagram.com/mathoupeanne/
Yeah it's so Indie to have an Instagram but I post a lot of photos of my trip and my experience.. so If you want to know more about myself go check my instagram !! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said earlier, I'm on Couchsurfing to expand my mind, to meet people all over the world, to cross a lot of countries, and meet/welcome other culture. It's a cheap way to travel and allow to have new friendships !

Interests

Well, well, well ... The thing that you have absolutely to know it is that I'm studying the History of Art. It is my passion. I am open-minded on every type of art, and I adore making debates (peace-loving debates of course!).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love cinema, more particularly : Stanley Kubrick (Shining / 2001 : a Space Odyssey / a Clockwork Orange/ Eyes Wid Shut) , Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), David Ficher (Gone Girl/ Fight Club/ Seven) , Terence Malick (The Tree of Life), Alejandro González Iñárritu (the Revenant / Birdman)....
I know, I know... they did special movies..

About TV shows : Game of Thrones / Breaking Bad / True Detective and I have just started Orange is the New Black.

About music : I play piano, and i'm learning saxophone.
I like all genre of music, but I have to admit that I prefer the electro music and the rock'n'roll! I participate at many festivals. Over there, I did voluntary work, in exchange, I had the right to assist at the concerts which I wanted. IT WAS SO FUN !

BOOKS
Songe d'une nuit d'Été - Shakespeare
Les Fleurs du Mal - Baudelaire
Le Portrait de Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

Ionesco/ Rimbaud/ Sartres/ Musset / Balzac/ Saint Exupéry/ Proust/ Molière/ Hugo/ Vian/ Prevert/ Verne .... French literature !!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a safari in Senegal with my family ! What an amazing experience it was ! It is so impressive to see the animals of the Savanna in their natural housing environment. I was even able to caress a zebra. I had the opportunity to met the senegalese population, people who live in the poverty.

Such a journey changes our perception of the world. There was a strong contrast between the population and my family, but Senegalese are open-handed and welcomed us as good as possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I welcome you in Bordeaux :
- do not worry you, you will have the right to have a guided tour of the city. I know very well Bordeaux, every week I cover the city by bicycle (it is the only sport which I practise ahah).
- I can also show you a lot of cool museums (not boring place ...) and amazing places in Bordeaux, like clubs, bars, parks... do party with friends !
- I'm living with my grands parents, Alain and Chantal. We are complices.
My grand mother is the best cooker that i met ! The French pastries have no secret for her! She can teach you cooking ! My grand father is an antique dealer and an artist, if you love vintages stuffs, he showed to me a lot of place where there are secondhand markets ! (I'm a vintage fan too, i have a platine vinyle, and a Typewriter ;) )

I can teach you french words, if you want to try to live as a typical french !
I speak italian too, and a little german. In exchange, I want you to teach me your language ! Oh, i can learn you how to play the ukulélé too, it's not a joke I promise !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can of course share my good mood with you. I'm someone who are very funny, i'm not shy with people. Ok.. I admit, I have a very bad accent. But it risks to make you enormously laugh. You can laugh at me, I have a lot of automockery.

You can take me everywhere where you want, some of my friends call me Indiana Jones. Ahahaha.

I am not afraid of the unknown and if I come to your place it is above all to meet you and to discover the city " to your way " ;).
