Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m a Danish journalist working at the Danish Television Broadcasting Corporation who independently produces news, culture and entertainment for TV, radio and web for more than 5 million people.

We are currently in the making of a TV program about traveling the world and exploring the culture in different countries.

The host of the program is 26-year-old Tobias Hamann-Pedersen who last year won the TV show “The great Danish Bake Off”.
Beside his interest in baking, he has a big passion for travelling the world. During the next couple of months he will be travelling with a small camera crew to explore other countries and be inspired for new cakes.

In the first season we will be visiting Hungary, Turkey, Portugal and Isle of Sky in Scotland.

In the program Tobias will be staying with local hosts for 2-5 days (stays in a spear room) to get to know them and the place – while the camera rolling. During the day he will be exploring the city and countryside, visiting local bakeries or cultural events. And on the last day he will create a big cake for the hosts inspired by his stay.
(The host will also receivecompensation for the stay)

We are a small TV crew of three people joining him in his travels, but only Tobias will be staying with the housing family. The TV crew stays at a hotel nearby.
