I grew up in the German landscape not far from Cologne. When I dropped out of my first study (biology), in the little but lovely town of Marburg in Germany, I decided to go a step further and emigrate to the Netherlands. Also, because my father is Dutch but never teached me this language. Now, after two years I know quite a bit about this country and his people. And I'm still not saturated to find out more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to give people the chance to stay in a friendly environment and explore the city in a different way than the regular tourist would do. I'm out for cooking together, exploring the places I already know and find new ones. Amsterdam is in big parts a very commercial city but there are everywhere little oases that the normal tourist can't know and never sees. The city is full of astonishment when you know where to look for it. This is the knowledge I'd like to share with you people.

Interests

I like being in the outdoors, being sportive. One of my passions is triathlon but I also enjoy arts, philosophy and good cup of tea. Next to my studies I am managing a NGO which follows the dream of reducing food waste and creating the possibility of an affordable meal for everybody in the town. Passionate climate activism is part of my identity as well. If you share some of these values and maybe can inspire me with some more you are very welcome as a couch surfer.
