Hi. My name is Johannes.
I love a good conversation and meeting a lot of different people. I like to teach, learn, lough and simply to have a good time. I live in a small city in eastern Germany called Jena, where I study nutrition sciences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I only had a few couch surfing experiences in my life but I always loved it. To me there is no better way to get in touch with people and cultures.
Thats why I signed up to couchsurfing.
Unfortunately I don't have the space to host surfers but if happen do be in beautiful little Jena I'd love to meet you.

Interests

I`m interesseted in a lot of things. I try to pick a few important ones in the following lines.
I like to do a lot of different sports. I love to do yoga, climbing and bodyweight strengthening exercises. Most recently I picked up kickboxing and tae kwon do and I like it pretty much.
I like singen, playing guitar and the piano. I never reached a professional level of skill. I never intended to anyway.
I'm fascinated by many scientific topics especially physics and life sciences and like to read and talk about it.
I like to study languages but I am not fluent in anything but german and english yet.
There still are a lot of things I could write down on this page. But I prefer to tell you in person when we meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a very important thing in my life. I like Metal bands like in flames, amorphis and dark tranquility but I also like more popular artists like ed sheeran and imagine dragons. There even are a few classical pieces I learned to enjoy.

When it comes to books I prefer non fictional literature. I own a few books about eastern philosophy and about optimization of the daily life. Of course I have to but also like to read a lot of literature for studying.

I am a big star wars fan and I like almost all of the marvel movies. Other important movies for me are The Last Samurai, Shaolin, Princess Mononoke and a few more..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed a mountain in the alps even though I am afraid of heights. It was a very easy climbing path but I am proud anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some basic guitar and vocal skills and maybe a little bit of german. I know a few things about yoga, movement and of course nutrition. I love disussing different scientific topics especially in the area of life sciences. I think a good conversation can be more instructive than the best subject book.
I would love to learn a lot about different languages and cultures.
