I am a student from the Czech Republic currently studying a master's programme in civil engineering with a focus on building structures. When I save some money I try to travel as often as possible, I was for a few months in the United States, working there as a lifeguard in Richmond Virginia and I also studied for one semester at DTU in Denmark. Those two experiences had the biggest impact on my life and I had a great time. Therefore, I seek to travel and expand my view of the world, meet new people and friendships.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that Couchsurfing is the best way to travel around a foreign country. You have an opportunity to meet locals, see how they live and maybe share an evening with them, go out and have fun, share stories and culture. When I will live in a place and be able to host, I will definitely do it, but so far I live in a dormitory or I share a flat with a few other people.

Interests

In my free time, I love to watch great movies, listen to music, hang out with friends or play video games. I am also playing Magic: The Gathering a lot! Since I was 7 years old I am part of the Scout Movement which shaped almost my entire life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a fan of a specific genre in music nor movies, there is at least one thing I like in every genre.

My favorite music interprets are Balthazar, Fatboy Slim, Eminem, flora cash, L.A. Salami, Lana del Rey, The Prodigy and list can go on...

My favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and I also think they are the best movies ever made. Convince me of the opposite! :D I love almost every movie from Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and Quentin Tarantino, but there are plenty of other directors and films I love.

If I should pick some favorite TV shows, it would be Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter and again, there are many more!

Favorite book of mine is The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and Hamlet by William Shakespear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best things I've done was the decision to go to the United States, work there and travel. Until then I was really comfortable at home playing video games a lot. But this experience showed me that the world has a lot to offer and it would be a shame to just miss it in one place.
