About Me

I'm an easy going, easy to get along with sort. I try, pretty successfully, to keep a positive, and relaxed, but also realistic view on things. Humor is the trait i enjoy most in others, and also the thing i like most about myself. I try to keep my body and mind fairly balanced, and in good health, but i do enjoy messin all that up every once in a while: )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling across Europe in what my mate calls my 'Ferrariesta', hopefully hitting up Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. Rock-climbing and enjoying various other adventure sports, seeing the sights and cultures along the way. I have friends, dotted around many of those countries, and I'll be staying with them, camping, hosteling and generally sleeping in a spot with a view!? I'd like to compliment that every once in a while with some couch surfing, after all, staying in a real 'home' is something you don't usually get to do when your traveling..

Interests

I like music of pretty much any and all types, and i enjoy playing guitar and singing too. I quite like sport, Rugby and Football would be my two big loves in that regard. I've also been doing loads of adventure sports since i was a kid, anything except hill walking. Not a huge fan of walking.. Love a good night out, but bare in mind I'm half Irish, half Scottish. If I'm out, I'm out with bells on: )

Music, Movies, and Books

I really think its easier to go the other way..
I'm not a huge fan of really out of it jazz, or super heavy electronic dance. Or death metal for that matter.
The only film i ever really hated was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. You let yourself down Jim.
As for books, i used to read about 4 or 5 a month, minimum, up until 4 years ago. Then....Nothing. Don't know what happened, but i haven't read a book since.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with wild dolphins in Killary fjord once, was asked to leave by the same dolphins in a language that was NOT English, but just as easily understood. Then got chased up the fjord, windsurfing at the peak of my abilities all the way back to land! A bit scary, but maybe it was for them too. Incredible to see them so close, really dominating their water. Not sure if its amazing, but for me it was like running with the bulls, getting buffeted and bashed, having to remain totally focused. It's a memory I'll have for life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching in general, and learning equally. I've spent most of my life coaching a host of adventure sports. i also quite enjoy getting people started on guitar.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Not really sure how to answer this one!? Good company, a great night out, a plesent evening in, ha, i'm easy: )
