Overview
About Me
I am outgoing and enthusiastic about life. I have spent a combined 6 months living in other families' homes through student exchanges in high school so I am accustomed to being a guest with strangers. I am not afraid to try new things and I never complain. I love everything about traveling. Meeting people, learning new languages, trying new food, experiencing different cultures.
So I'm excited to begin my degree in Intercultural Studies in Columbia Bible College.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing just seems like a great idea. The best way to get to know what a city or country is really all about is to meet locals. The things you never forget about a trip is always the people you meet anyways. I have often welcomed travellers into my home on their road trips across Canada and I absolutely love it. I don't own my house yet so I cannot officially open up my home on my parents behalf to the world but in the past they have never batted an eye when I told them i had invited some travellers looking for a place to stay. They are naturally very hospitable people and have passed the trait on to me. I know that if I ever own my own place it will always have open doors to couchsurfers.
Interests
I am really very interested in history and journalism. I would love to spend my life serving and teaching women and girls in refugee camps. But I am also very passionate about defending the rights of Canada's Indigenous peoples and eliminating the ignorance around the subject.
Aside from career interests I enjoy musical theatre and improvisation. I write music and poetry when I'm not experimenting with new vegetarian recipes in the kitchen. I do a lot of portrait drawings and watercolour paintings in my spare time and enjoy yoga and running.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I flew a plane once. A guy who was in a musical with me owned an old bush plane and he invited my friend and I for a ride to the lake for a few hours. Once we were in the air he showed us how we could steer the plane slightly my all leaning to one side because we all weighed more than the plane itself. Then he asked if I wanted to fly it myself. Before I could answer he slid into the seat behind him and suddenly I was in front of the controls. I spent the next hour flying the plane around the forest and lake. What a rush.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning. I honestly jump at the chance to learn any new skill, custom, recipe, song or language wherever I go. I love sharing stories and music and jokes when meeting new people. I suppose if someone wants a ukulele lesson or a Spanish lesson I could help a bit but I humbly admit that as a young person I'm sure I have much more to learn than to teach at this stage in life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring my ukulele with me whenever I travel and I am happy to share music with anyone who is interested. I like how music brings people together. I also love cooking for people (though my skills are quite hit and miss), drawing portraits, and telling stories.
