About Me
Hello I'm Akdeniz. I was born in Istanbul in 1995. My father is a soldier that's why we've been moving and travelling a lot. This must be the reason why I am used to and love travelling so much. I am studying translation and interpreting at Istanbul University. Currently I am in Spain for erasmus at Universidad de Oviedo.
I love taking photographs and share the moments. If you want to see more pictures, you can check my instagram: @adimikimkoydu
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet new people while i am travelling. Because I live close to the touristic area in Istanbul and I made a lot of foreign friends, they just ask me directions but i show them the whole area because having a local with you is good in a lot of ways. And I think if I couchsurf, I can learn and see more than a tourist guide book says.
So far I have couchsurfed;
in Paris, France (2 nights)
in Antwerp, Belguim (1 night)
in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2 nights)
in Prague, Czech Republic (1 night)
in Vienna, Austria (2 nights)
in München, Germany (1 night)
in Zurich, Switzerland (1 night)
in Rome, Italy (1 night)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of different types but rap. I grew up watching disney classics! I haven't really watched a lot of movies for the couple of years because of university exam etc, but most of the time I prefer comedy and I love "mean girls, 21 jump street" :D
I try to read as much as I can sometimes in English but mostly in Turkish.
My favorite book for now is "The Stranger (or the Outsider) by Albert Camus" because while reading, I felt like I am l'etranger
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran into an American tourist in Istanbul. He asked me directions and I had nothing to do. We went there together, then we went sightseeing, had lunch, talked a lot and we didn't even realize it got dark. It was a really great day and we became good friends.
I travelled around Europe by myself for 18 days in 13 cities in 8 countries. I was exhausted but it was worth it!
Teach, Learn, Share
While hanging out with people from other countries, I learned a lot from their way of seeing the world. We might come from different parts of the world but it doesn't mean that we cannot be friends, I made really good friends who are from the counties I have never been before.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a friendly, open-minded person, I have a lot of friends from a lot of countries and I assure you we will find something to talk about. I love eating that's why cooking as well. I'd love to help my host cooking their food, so that we can get to know each other more and I believe food makes friends:)
