About Me

Hello ! My name is Géraldine, I live in Rixensart, a town located 25 km away from Brussels, Belgium. I'm an easy-going student, curious and a nature lover.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've got dreams and one of them is to fulfill my passion for travel. Since I've got time till the day my legs won't support me anymore (at least I hope), I think this is a great period of my life to start traveling a little more. And if I can at the same time travel and meet new people, that's even better !

July 2015 : I did my first solo trip in Brazil, where I travelled around the country for a month.
I couchsurfed for the most part and I got to meet great people.

July 2016 : Back on the road, I travelled to India on my own and spent one month in North India. I couchsurfed there as well and loved it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books and I've read a whole bunch of them. I'm a Harry Potter fan!

As far as music is concerned, I like listening to indie folk, jazz funk, swing and electroswing music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well .. That's a pretty hard question.

Maybe going alone on a 1-month-trip around Brazil and India, without listening to people who were telling me "You are crazy to do it all alone, women don't travel by themselves in such dangerous countries like Brazil/India!" I didn't have any bad experiences there - on the contrary!
And I came back with this conclusion : Women can definitely travel all alone, like men. Yes we need to be careful at some times, but all travelers need to be a bit careful while traveling, and it applies for women as well as for men.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I still live at my parents' house with my sisters, it's difficult to host people for the moment, by lack of space. I hope I could host couchsurfers regularly at some point !
