About Me
Hello there
My name is Nico and I’m a ballet dancer. I’m half Spanish, half Colombian raised in Madrid and looking forward to create and travel around the world. I stared Couchsurfing in an attempt to seek the opportunity of experience the world and their citizens in the most authentic way regardless of any economic situation. I believe in the power of unity and the importance of community, I don’t believe in frontiers and strive to live in equal level with everything on earth. My happy places can found in freedom, nature, music/dance, art and overall meaningful interactions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I think it’s so much more worthy to get the perspective from a local rather than a predetermined perception of the site. There is a wide spectrum when it comes to culture and I don’t like to visit as a tourist, for me the whole point of this platform is to connect people trough travelling and giving or receiving a little taste of what your life looks like in this part of the world.
Interests
Of course I’ve already mentioned too many times arts music and nature. I’m interested in the things that make us vibrate with energy.
- arts
- fashion
- painting
- music
Music, Movies, and Books
In terms of music, disco is the key word; I love anything disco, funky or soulful but I listen to every kind of music there is: from Aurora to Peggy Lee, The chemical brothers, Serge Gainsbourg, Freddie King, Erykah Badu, Juana Molina, Lady Gaga, Chaka Khan, Bjork, Hercules & Love affair, Maurice Ravel, Sonic Youth... music is my religion. Same goes with movies, people like; Tarantino, Lars Von Trier, Pedro Almodóvar and Kim ki Duk drastically influenced my perspective in life. Right now, I’m reading The second sex by Simone de Beauvoir.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It may sound cheesy, but for me, to live is a pretty amazing to do. I get to see the beauty and the ugly in human beings; also the warmth of the sun in summertime, the beat of the music that triples down to my heart, the breathtakingly beautiful colours in flowers, fruits and animals...
Teach, Learn, Share
Although I’m a great learner, I don’t think of myself as a great teacher. I could give ballet classes, I know a bit about sewing and pattern making, drawing and singing but overall I think there’s so much more to learn from life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My thoughts, my knowledge on things, some laughs or perhaps some tears, company, my energy and my presence.
